Taoist, fatty and musclehead walk in to a bar... This joke overall describes what's happening in the donghua. The premise is fine, in modern setting MC is the only one with supernatural abilities and he uses them in problem-solving through the season. 3d is also up to date, not the greatest, but fluid and smooth enough. There is no back story to any of the characters or their development yet, but generally first season is basically introduction. There are some usual cliche like secret of the birth, missing parents, keepsake, random female character without clear relationship, funny fat guy (he is not) and lots of faceslapping. What's wrongwith the show is it's randomness, band of chars are dumped from one location to another, introducing so far not essential side characters without clear goal in mind. Like existence of overpowered squirrel, it is a companion and this is the only info you will get.

It seems like creators had many ideas but getting sidetracked only to pause and show awesomeness of the MC. And all of this not in a fun but a confusing way.
Because of this it's hard to sympathize with characters, though each of them have distinguishable traits they are flat and general.

So, all in all if you search quality show this donghua is not for you. If you have spare time you can watch it, not the most mind-numbing work I have ever seen.
