I don't understand why "bad" and CGI have been conflated such that the entire internets think all CGI is inherently bad. I liked this CGI, and I prefer visual shows to have motion. Unlike most anime that becomes a slideshow to save money. After a minute or so of getting used to the visual style, which I liked, it faded into the background. The full motion that good CGI can bring is amazeballs, and they really delivered here. it's like full motion cell shaded graphics, which I think turned out well. I could tell this was written by people who knew military life,or were adjacent to it. The details were awesome and spot on, things were gritty and realistic, and the final episode was just a chef's kiss. Not because I like loli mecha fighting, but because it's a big FU you to loli mecha teen angst. If you read the comments on YouTube, you can see many other veterans chime in and say that the details were spot on, for the most part.
10/10, need moar.
I've live to see this continued, and I'd love to buy the mecha toys if they weren't smaller than my laptop's power supply. Not even kidding, they are 3" tall. I have no idea how they crammed that much detail into a tiny toy, but mecha should be big and massive, not teeny tiny.
