I didn't know what I expected going into this series. I seemingly stumbled across this chaotic mess with its all-over-the-place pacing, lol. As it turns out, it's got a lot of heart and... hearts, so to speak. It's honestly much better than I thought it'd be. It bears several curious resemblances to Attack on Titan (trust me, you'll see what I mean very quickly), but it's definitely its own thing. I'm now 11 episodes in, and everything from art to animation seems to have received much love during the creation of this anime, and the voice acting is very good as well. It's a visual spectaclewith solid story elements that certainly deserve respect.

It's unusual to find an anime that strikes that perfect balance between unapologetic chaos and suck-you-in quality, but Tougen Anki appears to be doing just that. I'm most keen to see how this show concludes.
