A silly series about a group of teenagers who happen to have names similar to those of the fictional characters of a popular manga series, and as a result, start a "pirate club," marking the beginning of their crazy adventures at school, filled with lots of references. One of the most unique spin-offs that might exist in the world of manga/anime. It is just an average school setting gag manga, with the only difference being that this one adds lots of One Piece references on top...and it's honestly not that bad. Sure, the art isn't that amazing, and some could even say that it suffers from "bugeyes" syndrome, as some female characters end up having gigantic eyes that seem to occupy most of their faces in certain panels, but despite this, it really isn't unpleasant to look or even generic.

Characters' designs are actually pretty cute and versatile, and the whole one piece theme doesn't end up being an obstacle for the series to add its own twist in regard to its characters and narrative.

This series hardly takes itself seriously (not even the whole "in love" thingy), but that doesn't make it boring, as it really embraces its cartoony essence with puns and exaggerated panels bombarding the reader every second. If you're a pretty casual fan of One Piece, you might not catch a lot of stuff, so that might affect the enjoyment you might experience, but for the most part, it's a pretty light, entertaining read. It isn't something that can compete with a real rom-com, but if you're really into the successful pirates series, it's worth giving it a chance. Not an outstanding series, just good enough.
