Boku to Gal ga Fuufu ni Naru made · review
This manga was also the victim of cancellation, but unlike most manga where they are cancelled by publishing companies, this one was cancelled by Satan. No joke, the mangaka died back in June 2025 at the age of 28 while working on this. I don't know what about this particular romantic comedy offended the killjoys who reviewed it, but with only 23 chapters completed at time of death, it is a completely vanilla lovey-dovey manga with fanservice. It's executed well, and the feel-good vibes from it probably pissed off the devil. It certainly annoyed people here. The premise is that Kanakura Sora has absolutely shitty parents,to the point where the yakuza debt collectors are relatively nice to him even as they threaten him because he's seen them so much (and paid the debts himself). Just as Sora is stuck contemplating whether his life going forward will be spent as a degenerate's sex slave or as a fisherman in a real life version of Deadliest Catch, in swoops our heroine, Momose Luna, who pays off his debt and essentially buys him from the yakuza as well as his parents. Fanservice and comedy ensue, sicne what Luna actually wants is... to marry him. Yup, that's why she paid off the debt, she wants Sora as her husband. However, there are secrets beneath Luna's surface.
Luna gets most of the focus, art wise. She is gorgeous, and Shino-sensei (RIP) lavished her with sexy detail so that she delivers the fanservice. On the other hand, that means other characters are less interesting since Luna's the real star. Still, there are a lot of very funny reactions throughout the manga that are really sold by how exaggerated Shino-sensei (RIP) drew them.
Since there are numerous undercurrents in the manga that revolve around the mystery of Luna, it's sad that Satan cancelled this story by murdering the mangaka. At this point, we'll never see a conclusion, so reading this is as much about a living in memoriam to honor a good mangaka's final story as much as to enjoy the humor and lightness he left behind within it.
