It's really hard to understand what the story is trying to say, probably because of the translation issue. And it's also hard to follow who's doing what, since there are way too many characters in Kaiju No 8 that it's hard to remember which name corresponds to what face. It's also quite hard to picture a fight scene with just words, since it can get quite chaotic or messy sometimes, which is hard to explain with words. A lot of the characters are one-trick ponies that don't have much personality and are filler characters. The book is not enjoyable overall, and people shouldn't read it.
