Review of Redo of Healer
Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi (Redo of Healer) "Redo of Healer" is a tough one to pin down. Generally, I find ecchi and erotica to be shallow and pointless—most of it is just trash. But I’m the kind of viewer who appreciates plot-driven, edgy erotica, and this anime delivers on that front in a way that’s hard to ignore. The mix of gore, domination, and morally ambiguous moments hits the mark for me. There’s a raw, almost perverse passion in those elements that I genuinely respect and enjoy. That said, the show isn’t without its flaws—big ones. The plot is mediocre at best, and it’s stillvery much an ecchi harem anime, with all the clichés that come with the genre. The biggest issue for me is the protagonist, Keyaru. He’s driven not by some grand sense of purpose or “will to power,” but by a resentful, almost pathetic grudge against the world. His actions feel less like those of a compelling anti-hero and more like the product of his own insecurities, which makes him hard to root for.
Despite these issues, I’m giving Redo of Healer an 8/10. Why? Because the two arcs where the narrative and the dark, provocative erotica take center stage are absolutely worth watching. They deliver the kind of complex, gritty vibe that I crave, and I’m left wanting more—more ambiguity, more intense gore, more of that twisted atmosphere. In erotica, a strong narrative is what matters most, and while it’s only fully realized in a couple of arcs, those moments make the show stand out. If you’re okay with pushing boundaries and don’t mind the gore, this one’s worth a shot.
