Review of Dan Da Dan
The era of brain rot begins. This anime felt very pointless. Yes, the art is superb, and the characters are fun at times. But the plot, which should be the driving force of the story is just... pointless. I know many anime fans enjoy some silly fun. And sure, we have tons of silly anime. But at least those usually have some kind of purpose. Every story starts its journey from point A and moves toward point B. That’s the core of storytelling. Along the way, we connect with different characters. This anime is missing that core. Maybe it’s because there’s no real conflict, or because there’s noproper antagonist. Season 1 has finished and still, the whole point of the show feels meaningless. People will watch it, rate it highly, and forget it within a year.
Now, not every anime has to be epic or a masterpiece. But it should have at least one redeeming quality. And yes, I rated it a 7—because of the art and as a kind of homage to the first mainstream “brain rot” anime. Nothing else.
I might even watch Season 2 if it outperforms Season 1. Even so, I can never form any emotional connection to this show. That’s how much pointlessness it showed me.
