Review of School Days
I do not enjoy writing reviews, but I had to for this piece of shit excuse for an anime. I cannot believe that this anime dares to have a 6/10 rating average. The anime starts out fine, seeming like the average slice-of-life/romance anime. The character seem fine, although their designs seem very repetitive, and there is no outstanding quality when it comes to the art style or color choice. The soundtrack is nice, but there are an excessive amount of songs on the soundtrack, and most of them sound the same. The character's actions, to say this without spoiling anything, are extremely unrealistic, and I found myselfcringing while watching it. Setsuna's character is entirely unrealistic, and she ONLY exists as a plot device. Sekai and Setsuna are generally the only characters with justifiable actions in the end. Makoto was unrealistic, and many of the other girls he was with were unrealistic as well. His character also made me VERY angry, which was the point of his character, but his actions were unjustifiable and it was hard to see where he was coming from at all.
The ending was... interesting, but very unnecessary. I can see that the director wanted to pay respects to the visual novel, but it came off in a very sloppy, careless way, as if he threw it together and said "alright, good enough".
My enjoyment escalated, though, simply because the characterization and directing was so hilariously bad that it managed to get a few laughs out of me.
Overall, bad anime. Do not recommend. There are so many other good anime to watch other than this one. Do not waste your time.
