What defines a person? In other words, what is a person's identity? Is it his body? Is it his actions? Is it his past? Is it his thoughts? Kokoro Connect explores each of these four answers, one answer per arc, starting with the body-swapping arc exploring the answer of "body". Although Kokoro Connect might not take a proper stance on which answer is "right", it does give more than enough food for thought. But don't expect Kokoro Connect to be too stressful, since it is fundamentally a romantic comedy slice-of-life show, although not a particularly normal one. It starts out by describing each of the characters'stereotyped personalities, which would normally be a bad idea. However, the show then proceeds to throughly deconstruct every single character, resulting in intriguing character development.

Another thing that makes Kokoro Connect shine is the humor. It has slapstick routines, witty sarcasm, sexual humor, and meta-jokes. But I particularly like how the show likes to make sudden switches from being serious to being comedic, which made me laugh a lot.

To sum it up, Kokoro Connect is a quirky masterpiece.

P.S. Don't forget to watch the Michi Random arc (episodes 14-17). This series functions more like a 17-episode series than a 13-episode series plus a 4-episode extra.

P.P.S. This is my first review on MAL. Yay!
