Review of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
This is going to be a category-ful, spoiler free (UNTIL THE "ENDING" SECTION at the end, WHICH I WILL MAKE VERY OBVIOUS HAS SPOILERS) review! Summary (MAL does this already but oh well, here's a short one) ------------------------------------------------------- Our MC(main character) Jinta Yadomi skips school and weebs at home playing games. Somehow, Menma (his childhood friend who is dead) shows up one day, and the whole series follows him alongside this "ghost" to figure out why she's here. Story/Plot ------------ Great storytelling that tells us about the past, as well as the characters current problems resulting from it. Personally almost made me tear up, but I can see how anybodywatching can burst into str8 tears throughout the series.

Pacing/Series Length

This series was quite slow pacing wise in the first couple episodes and some in the middle, but it was definitely worth the watch so don't drop it halfway! The length IMO is pretty good, 11 episodes to start and wrap it up.

Characters

Getting to know each character and their past/present struggles, as well as how to cope with it, was the best part of the series. Each had their own special way they react, realistic or not, making the series more enjoyable. The characters themselves, though, can at times follow your typical anime character template (won't go in-depth about this but you'll see what I mean).

Hisakawa, Tetsudou (aka POPPO). He lights up this very dim and sad series (alongside Menma). He's just a lovable character, WHAT CAN I SAY.

Don't really have much to say here, it was pretty good and got the audience emotional where needed. This is one of the very few anime that I actually CARED and LOVED the opening!!

If u wanna watch drama, friends working together to get over the death of a special somebody, follow the problems and resolutions of the main cast of characters w/ a touch of supernatural and onion cutting, THIS IS FOR YOU.

Felt like going on a feels trip after a lot of slice of life comedies and this really hit home. I REC THIS TO ANYBODY, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO RELATE TO THE ABOVE SECTION.

PRETTTYYYYYYY saaaaaaaad T-T Good closure to the main characters, and like many others I kinda hoped to see an epilogue. For the longest time I thought Jintan was gonna work himself to death and get sick or something, but then I realized it was a 11 episode series haha. Fitting ending and made all that slow pacing at the start worth it!!
