Review of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai An interesting concept, which did not turn out directly, but enjoyed a pleasant implementation. There was no actual main plot that tore you off your feet, the whole plot can practically be taken from the description of the work. The reactions of the characters, their actions and views made the most of the work. Here the psychological part was very nicely in focus. The guilt feelings and the way everyone dealt with it and how it hurt them. Many may think that there was a bit of an exaggeration there. But you have to put yourselfin the roles of small children who grew up with such feelings of guilt and could never get over it. The stronger the psychological mentality of a person, the better he can handle something like that.
Spoiler!
the guy who disguised himself as the girl and ran around in the forest. This was his way of escaping reality. It may sound confusing to many, but it is very real.
However, this work also had several flaws that destroyed the tension in the course.
1.
Spoiler!
Why didn't the girl reveal herself earlier? She had the power from the start.
2nd
Spoiler!
Was she able to use physical contact? And did she hug people a few times? But otherwise they had no ideas? Just to solve the plot in episode 10+? Through all this plot armor, the scene looked pretty ... questionable.
And these 2 approaches made a lot of difference. After all, the title was almost entirely based on this.
Story:
Barely available. It was a very clear plot to the end with no twist. The implementation is positive here.
Animation / pictures:
For a title on this genre, the animation was very positive. What you would normally expect from A-1 Pictures.
Characters:
Biggest plus at work. There were all the usual and typical characters. From Kudere to Tsundere and the capricious personality. There was nothing worth mentioning. However, I liked the implementation of their personalities and how they dealt with the story.
Music:
Would I say .. average? Musically from the intro and outro nothing earth shattering. The East also kept short and went very unnoticed.
My conclusion
A quick treat for the drama fans. I would leave it like that. Had these deficiencies not resolved so strongly for resolution. The writer could have come up with a better explanation. This would have made the scene much better.
Nonetheless, clearly a fairly satisfactory title.
