Review of Akira
It's been 30+years and I just watched Akira yesterday. It's been cited as a classic by many and much like cowboy bebop and old school Pokemon, the animation is totally different from nowadays's animation. After watching Violet Evergarden (an anime with amazing animation) watching this right after felt weird for some reason. As for my review, I thought it was just a good anime, I didn't see it as a perfect/masterpiece anime. The story's Fentress around Tetsuo and Kaneda mainly, Tetsuo gets captured by the army and Kaneda out of nowhere knows that Tetsuo's in a hospital and doesn't even care enough to check where heis and when Tetsuo gets found, he apparently cared a lot about him.(Spoilers: Also where did Kaneda get that Ray Gun)
The ending was weird too, it was Interstellar's ending weird(which if u liked then I'm pretty sure u would enjoy this too but I didn't)
Art style was amazing for its time.
Soundtrack was ok, wasn't something I would add to my playlist but it did its job
The characters were good, they clearly knew what they wanted to concentrate on(and literally ignore what didn't wanted to concentrate on) and did their job very well.
I personally thought it was a good anime but I'm not sure I agree with everyone calling it a one of the greatest of all time
