The Aru Tabibito no Nikki specials offer a glimpse into an even weirder and dreamier world than the parent series. Each short is visually distinct, maintaining the same strangeness and surrealism. While only one short directly pertains to Tortov Roddle, all three carry the same aura of peculiarity. The first episode stands out as a drug-fueled wonderland, with noticeably more animated character expressions compared to the originals, adding an extra layer of dynamism to the already bizarre atmosphere. In contrast, the second episode evokes a sense of uneasiness, amplified by the limited audio, making it even more strange and unsettling. Comparatively, the third episode hasthe least to offer, being the most normal of the three. Despite their short length, these specials delve deeper into the realm of the unconventional, embracing the oddity and whimsy of the Aru Tabibito no Nikki.
