Review of Haibane Renmei
I was so lucky that i picked this anime up on DVD for my collection, because i can say with a firm mind, this is my favourite anime. after recently finishing it, i feel a warm spot from the space it left when it was done, yet i also feel a bit or regret knowing it is all over and done with. like the main character, i wanted this show to last just a little longer so it could really enthral me in the tales of oldhome and the angelic euphoria that is this shows setting. i cried for about 40 minutes at the conclusion ofthis show due to the music this show has to accompany it's run time along with the raw emotion the show produces, it is truly a show that uses an ideal setting to make the viewer inquire about the situation the main characters are in.
the animation is very cute and light, the characters are not overly detailed in any way but the show in all honesty looks really nice with the surrounding scenery being the real playmaker of the art, with the high point of the show being all of the varied environments that the characters venture to. even the places that where specific to the last episode of the show are extremely memorable.
the characters in this show are all enjoyable to be around, serve their purpose, and understandably take a back seat to Rekki and Rakka. they do still show signs of being their own distinct characters, but they do end up fading behind the main characters. the mains, really earn their spots however, these are some of the most meticulous characters ever written. their voices reflect differently based on what they think and feel. just amazing.
i don't think i will ever watch an anime with better music in ti then this show, amongst everything that happens in the episode, the outro song "blue flow" is one of the highlights for me as it is so beautifully weightless, it had me on the verge of tears every time an episode ended. the OP is also an amazing song that has its high triumphant points, along with it's cute piano tune to contrast. just unbelievable.
the voice acting like the rest of the show is amazing, with my highlight from the show being T Axelrod, the old cloths maker. but every main characters performance is emotional, and just makes me think, characters don't always need to yell and scream to show how they feel. this show makes that obvious.
i am so happy i found this show because it legitimately made me feel something that really can't be felt by any other median, i can't even explain who it made me feel to be honest.
some people will say, you are over reacting, and yeah maybe i am, but i don't mind. i am just glad i have experienced something like this, in a time where stuff like this is hard to come by anymore. i love it with all my heart.
