Review of Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow
"Solo Leveling" Season 2 was a thrilling ride, and its unapologetic power scaling really stood out to me. The story felt quite unique, especially with how the character's power was amped up without making the world stronger, so we could actually feel the hero getting more powerful. The first season had its hardships, but the second season just cranked it up in a way that kept things satisfying without becoming too overpowered. The art style? Absolutely top-notch. It was perfect for a fighting anime very well done, enhancing the entire experience, especially during the action scenes. However, the characters were the weakest part of the show. Mostof them were shallow, with little impact on the story. While the main character did change throughout the season, the lack of depth in the other characters stood out as a critique.
That said, the characters did react realistically to most situations, though I would have liked to see more depth from them overall.
As for whether others will enjoy it, I’d say this is a perfect watch for fans of action, fantasy, and isekai. While it's not technically an isekai, it has a lot of the same themes, especially the rise of a character from zero to hero. The lack of depth won’t be an issue if you're into satisfying power growth, action-packed fights, and solid progression. Not everyone might love it, but for fans of the genre, it’s one of the best action/fantasy animes out there.
