Review of Chainsaw Man

Let me tell you- LET ME TELL YOU. People be saying this the anime of the CENTURY. Manga readers have been waiting for this moment from the beginning of TIME. I’ve been watching anime for at least 8 years now, all my friends are HYPED. So I go, sure, why not, let’s give it a try. At first I hated it. Epitome of an overhyped anime. Denji is the stupidest character I’ve ever seen. Dreaming about boobs, girls, having sex- I was disgusted. Is this why all my male friends like this? I’m about to drop it after two episodes in. HOWEVER. After the third episode, I’m hooked.Denji has shallow goals, but he’s just a boy going through puberty, he’s never had anything decent in his life before, everything in the public safety department is a dream come true. Who am I to say his dreams are shallow? The anime depicts an immature minor (rightfully so) go through life as the adults around him takes advantage of his naivety and makes use of his power for their own selfish desires. It’s flashy, of course, with bloody fight scenes and (mediocre) cgi, but what really drove me to love this anime was the characters.
