Review of Horimiya
After several months of not watching anime, I thought to myself 'Damn I need to get back into anime why not start with a rom com that will make me feel lonely in life and cry me to sleep'. Ladies and gentlemen, it was a success. Watching Horimiya surely will give anyone single a very hard strike to their hearts and a pang of bittersweet happiness. Let's get the ratings out of the way first, the art style was very nicely done and I still remember myself thinking that the opening to this anime was so highly produced that I'd fawn over the opening overand over again. The story of the anime is your somewhat cliché romantic comedy anime where popular girl falls for unpopular guy but I really liked the story a little bit more than most rom coms because I believe the character development was very good for all characters, even the side characters. We had characters who didn't even show up often in the show get a pretty decent character development and story. Not only that, but the characters themselves had a very good design and a great sense of liveliness to them that made me feel like I was there with them. Other than that, this a straightforward slice of life rom com anime that is just so cute you'll receive diabetes the next day. The sound and music are all amazing and I can't bring myself to not just do my little dance dance when the opening and ending comes. Overall this anime was a really really good watch and I enjoyed staying up till 4 am every night to watch a few episodes and then crying myself to sleep about how I will never find a girl like Hori-san. All jokes aside, this anime was enjoyable in every aspect for a rom com watcher, it had cute scenes, it had rivalry, it had 'spicy' scenes, it had a whole lot of comedy and too much romance for this poor little heart to handle.
