imo, someone's enjoyment of a slice of life anime, more than any other genre of anime, is extremely informed by their life experiences. And as someone that's over the over-the-top drama of watching high school students being unable to properly express their feelings with one another, Horimiya was extremely refreshing. I love CloverWorks' visual flourishes in expressing how certain characters' feelings are clicking (i.e. the colored silhouettes). These moments combined with the delicate sound design made the most intimate scenes even more intimate, and as a viewer, made me feel something. As far as the anime making me feel something, Iwas freaking bawling at the last episode lol, so there's that.

This anime is a 9/10 for me, just because it sounds like it is unfair for Cloverworks to have had to animate this whole manga in literally 13 eps. That's just wrong. But in doing so and in working with what they had, what we have here is a quick binge romcom anime that is heavy with both the laughs and the feels, makes you feel good, and doesn't overstay its welcome.

Highly recommend, and when you're done, you can probably read the manga afterwards and still get something out of it!
