Review of Horimiya
Horimiya (Season 1 + 2) – My Thoughts Season 1 was good, but felt a little rushed in terms of relationship development — it kinda just happened. Still wholesome and entertaining, especially with the side characters. I’d rate Season 1 alone a 7/10. Season 2 really completed the experience. It filled in all the gaps from Season 1, gave more depth to Hori x Miyamura’s relationship, and made the emotional connection feel real and earned. That dual-ending perspective (Miyamura’s in S1, Hori’s in S2) hit hard and wrapped things up beautifully. Hori as a character? Lowkey unhinged — short temper, weird fantasies, gets mad over nothing — butshe knows it. One of my favorite episodes is where she opens up about fearing Miyamura might stop caring because of how she acts. That vulnerability adds so much to her character, even if we don’t really see her work on it much after.
My only real gripe is the over-focus on side characters in some episodes — especially that one with the teacher, who barely even showed up otherwise.
Overall score: 8/10 when watching both seasons together. A wholesome, chaotic romance that hits both sweet and real moments.
