[Spoiler Warning] Dorohedoro is a Jack of all Trades series that balances comedy, subtle romance, magic, horror and many more in a tight 12 episode (for now) adapted series. The generous balance of violence and gore against a mix of comedy and bliss make it an entertaining experience. Story: 8/10 The premise is already set within the first 5 minutes; a lizard-man wants to find the sorcerer who turned him into a lizard to revert their magic but he has no recollection of the past only the person that dwells within him. It's weird because in the first half of the series I could have swornthe character was Aikawa but it suddenly changes to Risu in the latter half. This is the main story line but there are many different side story lines such as En, who has his own back story is in search of a sorcerer with time manipulation. In short, the story is well managed in terms of progression and complexity; it appears that all the different character back stories intersect with each other so each character has seen or at least heard of one another by the closing of the season.

Art & Sound: 6/10 & 8/10
I'll try to be fair, the series heavily lacks animation and art. Most of the anime community will steer clear if they hear that the series contains CGI which they probably aren't used to yet but that is basically the achilles' heal of the series. Music was a leading factor in managing the tone of each scene, for the most part the series had calm music and SFX to appeal to the bliss comedy and cheerful characters.

Character: 9/10
By the end of Episode 13, the introduction to the general character palette would have been completed and we had already been familiarized with the characters. The producers ensured that the characters (Kaiman, Nikaido, Shin, Noi, Ebisu and En) appear consistently throughout the series and even tactically used flashbacks to supplement character development rather than lazily introduce the character through repeated use. Also, the attention to detail in terms of character complexity was amazing - e.g when Kaiman leaves Nikaido because he's fearful of the damages that he may incur on her (Ep 10-13) and meets the Pie Store owner which later on introduces a new set of characters as the Pie Store Owner's competitors and even gives details on their significance in the story (i.e The competitor's owner was a former employee at the Pie Store but she was fired because she abused her magic powers on the owner) The character palette is like a small community where everyone knows everyone.
~ ~ Also Ebisu is possibly one of the most likable comedic relief characters in all the series I've watched so far, she definitely deserves her own show or probably a dedicated OVA ~ ~

Enjoyment: 7/10
I'm not usually the type to enjoy mystery/detective style series (although this doesn't have the category it definitely deserves it since Kaiman and Nikaido have gone on a wild goose chase to find leads on the sorcerer that turned Kaiman into a Lizard-man) but this series is different, series such as ID:INVADED didn't appeal to me because it was too straight forward and didn't require much processing/thinking to determine the motives of the enemy or their identity. Overall, very addictive series ~ Looking forward for more adaptations of Dorohedoro as hinted in the final episode...
