Review of The Eminence in Shadow Season 2

Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! 2nd Season is very similar to season 1, but with less action. I wasn't let down, since season 1 to me was mid as well, but I expected more from season 2. Action scenes were scarce, and the plot was kind of disinteresting. The last episode did do things right though. Cliff hangers are a must in order to keep my interest, and the way the last episode was done was interesting. I can't hate on the show too much, nor give it much praise, Shadow is just one of those animes that make yousay, "it is what it is". If the ending of season 2 is an introduction to a more expansive story with more stakes than there are currently, then I think the show will get better. Hopefully it goes in that direction.

Animation 8/10
- It's nice, both stationary scenes and action scenes are done well.
Sound 8/10
- Good sound design, sfx are great, edge to the characters from VA, OP ED not that great.
Story 4/10
- Not great, boring at points, but the last episode did spark my interest.
Characters 7/10
- With only 12 episodes, I feel we missed out on much of any character developments, aside from 666. I do enjoy the characters, just wish there was more to them or their ambition.
Enjoyment 7/10
- Didn't hate it, didn't love it, just mid.

It's something to watch if you don't value your time so much. The series as a whole has good qualities, but it is not a series to expect greatness from.
