While Megalo Box 1 is a fun watch, I would never have imagined the story taking such a different turn in the second series. If you watched all of Megalo Box 1 sets up Joe as a protagonist that will rise up to challenge and defeat his foes through support from other main characters as well as his own tenacity. Megalo Box 2 switches everything on its head and now Joe is seeking redemption in a world where he can not simply fight his battles out in the ring. This story masterfully crafts Joe's redemption through his relationship with boxing, and the journey he takesas a humming bird trying to find his way home.
