Review of Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow
Few action/fighting anime have brought me absolute joy while watching (HxH, Goku x Frieza, Ansatsu, Tensei Shitara Slime S2, Kimetsu NY S2, and Black Lagoon). This season of SL just got added to that short but exhilarating list. Having read the manhwa multiple times since it was released (I started reading around Ch20), I didn't really know how to feel about the anime adaptation, especially with the other adaptations I've seen. BUT that's unrelated here because I'll be talking about the anime only. Yes, the hype can make it seem underwhelming, and the hate can stop you from watching it completely, but if you're looking for afun, action-packed, fantasy anime that has a decent storyline and great fight scenes, then Solo Leveling is definitely the anime for you. Season 1 starts slow and honestly made me realize how short the first arcs were, but season 2 definitely takes the cake when it comes to reminding the viewers how fun action and fantasy anime can be.
Don't mind the negative reviews as much, and don't be too hard on every single aspect of the series. It ruins the fun of anime as a whole. The story is definitely NOT the best plot ever (HxH and KNY keep those spots), but just try watching it and see for yourself just how exciting it is to hype up your favorite characters during their adventures, fights, and growth as hunters.
Definitely a fun watch!
