Honestly such a good anime. This is one of the first of its kind that I've tried watching and I really really enjoyed it. In terms of plot, it's well thought out, deep, and such a sweet story. It's got the perfect mix of emotions, plenty of humor but some really complex sad tones too. One of the best part of the show is it's distinctive nature; the contrast and juxtaposition that's often shown. You've got a seemingly mundane and sweet high school story but there are also really touching and heartbreaking moments. It's a great reflection of human emotions: the stages of grief, guilt, forgivenessand identity.

You've got very likeable characters too and it's easy to feel attached, but they're not open books either. They're also flawed, all of them show purposeful and real weaknesses. I really appreciate how they're portrayed as adults (or nearly adults) who struggle a lot with their own challenges, some which they cannot resolve. The characters show incredible development too, coming to terms with their past and find themselves; it's nice to see. Again though, it's not all happy ending, the show reflects the true nature of life.

I also would like to mention the soundtrack because it's incredible. Particularly the opening song, ending song, and one featured towards the end of the show. It's an amazing soundtrack and I honestly still listen to it all the time to this day. The way this anime is centered around a band, makes way for some fantastic instrumental features.

In conclusion, watch the anime if you're open-minded. I definitely cried a lot watching it and laughed, was a 100% enjoyable experience.
