Divine Lord of the Heavens · review
I liked this donghua even though not right away. It took me some episodes. Partly because its fully CGI which is mixed in quality. While the lead characters looked impressive and attention to details is paid to them the other side characters much less so. Resulting in uncanny valley, stiff animation at times. While the action is less impressive than many other donghuas it more focuses on non-action elements that those animes often dont to this detail. For example more detailed alchemy, creation of pills, mechanism of furnace etc. Later in the show action does get better. I will summarize the good and the bad: + Strong premisewith reincarnation with memories of past nine lives intact.
+Good for fans of cultivation, ancient artifact, schemes, battle between sects etc.
+MC is not too overpowered and still needed to be resourceful.
-Familiar tropes, that are common in so many donghua.
I have only seen season 1. There is no season 2. I hope they make one.
My Rating: 8/10 (Great)
