6.8/10 I really did like this manga at first, but it just made one critical error: cliches. I’m sorry, but the plot of this manga just becomes unbearable at certain points in the story due to how ridiculous or unoriginal some of the developments are, and it just becomes one huge headache despite the good humor. Every noble hating the mc? Mc saving random important people out of nowhere? Mc duels proving his worth? Yeah, you get the point — this manga basically follows the same-old storyline of a naive, overpowered protagonist that goes through the royal academy as a commoner or lesser-than; the only difference thisstory has is the butler aspect, which does make for some good comedy.

The characters were briefly touched on, but they are all idiotic, as they don’t have much of a personality — characters are mean for the sake of mean, etc. Despite the mc being a massive pushover, I can’t lie that he’s not likable, since he does have a lot of those “badass” moments, but it’s also accompanied by some pretty bad writing.

This could’ve been a really good manga if the author played more onto the butler aspect and dialed down on all of the cliches and stereotypes, but instead, it’s just an above average magic academy manga.
