My Hero Academia: Smash!! · review
As someone who read the series around 2020, and is thinking of one day maybe re-reading it, BNHA Smash is one of those manga that I wouldn't necessarily recommend over the OG series, but would say it's a worthwhile pick up if you're already a fan of the original series. One of the things that makes me enjoy this series as a manga, in a way, is a combination of two things. 1) It did a way better job as a sort of "haha random humor go" sort of series compared to Teen Titans Go. It does it in a way that makes fans enjoy theseries, without trying to replace the original series and what at the time was built up at the time. And 2) The jokes were built in a sense that could make a person who read the original series laugh (or at least chuckle) without needing to be for everyone.
And the ending was... fine. It's the main reason I marked it down, to be honest. Like, trying to use bits that were built up to the end, in order to escape a dream esc state. That works to a certain extent, given that the series was about 100 chapters long, but at the same time, there were better ways of doing it.
Overall, I would recommend the series if you liked MHA and if you're looking for a good laugh.
