Id ignore the one guys bad review here, and id advice you to check it out yourself. Review: This 3 OVA anime is a classic 90s anime, and straight up Yakuza/Organized crime set, nothing more nothing less. The first OVA, graphically is not the best, ill admit, But in the second and third you can definetly notice an upscale and character diferences. The second and third in my opinion is way better, as the first is mainly more introductional to a large portion, the main character, the other characters a part of the story, side characters, the different Yakuza families, region and area, etc etc. I would giveit quite a high score if we base it on some of the fundamentals:

Organized crime? check.
Violence? check
Story plot and constant characters? check.
Character developement? check.

We watch young Maji-san grow up from a kid, a Yakuzas underling, to touching the highest ranks as his story continues, and his feuds with the other Yakuza families, groups and such, we watch him grow with friends, lose friends, develop love, but in the end the show makes it clear and detailed, he chose the Yakuza life, its the life he chose and he cannot and will not leave it behind, after he has gone through so much, and so far to get where he is.

All the 3 OVAs exist now on Youtube with full english subtitles too, something previously never done before, so id say, go and watch it, make up your own mind, and feel its vibe, but i say again, after the first OVA i feel the show gets way better.
