Review of Space Dandy

'Space Dandy' is a show that doesn't bother trying to make sense and instead just throws a bunch of stuff together in order to try and keep you entertained. This is one of those shows that doesn't care weather or not it makes any sense, and instead just tries to entertain you with its comedy, unique style, and upbeat tone. This show is very inconstant, and makes absolutely no sense. Some episodes may leave with the entire cast dead, with them all mysteriously back in the next episode with no explanation. The tone of each episode seem to be a littledifferent from each other as well. This is probably because multiple directors worked on different episodes of this show. With most shows, not making any sense will ruin the entire series, however, there are some shows out there that don't lose everything from it and sometimes are improved by the ridiculousness of it. These are what I like to call goofy comedies. This basically means films that develop their specific tone and comedy through their bazaar plots and use the fact it makes no sense for comedy. 'Space Dandy' is a series I believe attempted to do this so the inconsistency of the show shouldn't be too much of a big deal. If you are expecting a show with a amazing plot and story-line, look elsewhere. If you just want some quick entertainment, keep reading.

You may think I just said that the fact the story doesn't entirely make sense wasn't that big of a deal since it fit the style of the show. Even though this may be true, there is still one mandatory thing you must have when it comes to shows like that. This is the comedy. In order for a show to gain entertainment off of it's ridiculousness, it has to be funny as well. When it comes to 'space dandy' The comedy involved in the show is very repetitive and to be fully honest, I didn't really find it that funny. Instead it just felt boring. This is probably the biggest flaw of 'Space Dandy.' There may have been a few funny scenes during this show that may be worth watching for, but if you are to watch this show than I should warn you that some episodes are far better than others.

'Space Dandy' is a series you either love or hate. If you don't enjoy the first few episodes, than you can stop watching because you probably won't enjoy the rest. This show is designed for people who just want some quick entertainment, not those looking for a quality story or anything more. If you are still considering this show, give it a try. If you don't like it, you can give it up without worrying it will change a lot from the start.
