Review of Blood Blockade Battlefront
This anime is one that I first watched some years back, and it is an anime that I will hold dear in my heart for years to come. There's just something about it that makes you want to come back and watch it again and again, and it never gets old. The first time I watched this show, the first word that came to mind was "chaotic", because that's exactly what it is. Almost every episode there are explosions and death, and the main characters (as well as most of the people in the anime in general) are just so used to it that theyjust brush it all off in the most comedic of ways. Only if a very significant character dies do they show some emotion for their death.
Is this show deep? No, not really. Sure, many of the main character have their
backstories, but they don't get too much focus and they're not a significant part of the plot (except for maybe the MC's backstory). For the most part, this anime is an action/supernatural/comedy. There's not really that much drama associated with it. But I think that's what I like most about it. It's not something overly complicated, it's just something that's very fun to watch.
The only significant complaint I have about this anime at the moment is that it's been like 4 years since the last season, and we have yet to hear news of another (or at least, I personally have not come across any confirmed news about another season). But, needless to say, the second the 3rd season comes out, I will be one of the first to rush to watch the first episode. And it really isn't a question of "does it really need another season", because it absolutely does. Leaving the show as it is now and at the point its at in the plot would be very dumb. To explain, the show is based around the main character Leonardo Watch and his journey to fix his and his sister's eyes.... and he still has yet to do so. Ending the show without resolving this extremely significant issue just would not make any sense.
But anyways, that concludes my review. Please consider giving this anime a chance. You won't regret it! ;)
