Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero
I do not watch much isekai, fantasy or MMO related stuffs. The reason why I chose to watch this anime was mainly from facebook videos which occasionally show short scenes from a certain anime. It looked and sounded interesting at first judging by some of the short clips from facebook videos. Story: Ah yes... the typical 'person gets summoned into another world'. Jesus, how many times this kind of story telling introduction style has been used? Anyways, for the first few episodes, it was interesting and I pretty got hooked up although I've got some spoilers ahead. Transitions and executions are great too. At least it feels likein a smooth timeline. Well except for the first few episodes though. Minimal fanservice, but really, who needs fanservice when you've got great art?
The battles, well I do think the MC is abit OP and I don't know how he'd get so wise in a fast pace. Meanwhile other side characters were so weak which got me questioning "wtf are they doing thoughout the entire series lmao". A bit of unfair here I think.
Art:
Sometimes I get some character vibes from Konosuba, idk. And also, Spice and Wolf... anyone??? But I dig it. Good CGs, can't complain much here. Also, the animation time for those characters developing their own powers is great too. Not too long or short.
Sound:
OP is okay for me. I like the ED alot more. Not much to say about the OSTs or sound effects.
Character:
Like I said, MC is weirdly smart after few episodes and kind of OP. 4 heroes, and why the other 3 are so underpowered?
Enjoyment:
Personally, I like stuffs like this. OP MC with constant winning. Some people may dislike it and that's okay. Cause its just my opinion. Although not alot, the bits of romance in this anime sometimes makes me wanna cry you know?
The first few episodes... the most appropriate reaction would be loltyler1. I watched calmly, but deep inside, I just wanna scream like him.
Overall:
If you like overpowered MC, with some satisfaction in every fights or battle. Well, try this one out. No comedy vibes here, FYI.
