Review of Land of the Lustrous
This anime is both beautiful and complex, reaching its true potential only when the viewer manages to connect the story to personal experiences. The plot isn’t exactly predictable, but even in moments where you can sense what’s coming, it still delivers a strong emotional impact. The art style fits perfectly with the atmosphere, polished, expressive, and carefully crafted to highlight both the intensity of action and the quiet, emotional moments. Characters feel well-rounded: they have strengths and flaws that make them believable, and their reactions to events feel natural rather than forced. Because of this, I believe many viewers will find something to relate to here. Somemight be drawn to the emotional depth, while others may appreciate the worldbuilding or the striking visuals. It’s a series that invites you to look deeper. This is a work that begs to be animated, its beauty is completely lost in a black-and-white manga, and it’s a shame that Orange is still on the fence about continuing it as this story clearly has the potential to grow even further.
begs for further development and more room to expand this rich universe full of possibilities.
