Story: I gave it a 7 because, although it had a good premise and the general plot twists and character development was clearly defined, while at the same time giving some very good perspectives to dwelve in - this universe specific, I mean - I found the end to be rushed, and the lack of a sequel disappointing. Gangsta deserves to have a sequel, and it's disappointing that it didn't have one. Art: The movement of the characters, the fight sequences, the attention to detail, the quality of the animation, and even the realism that was instilled in the fighting as well as the more silent moments ofthis anime, brought the art to life. You felt the fear of Ergastulum and Tags in general as the story progressed. Furthermore, the realism of the characters as they reacted, also made this a really good anime in terms of art.

Sound:

I found the intro and outro of this anime very disappointing. Too loud, and too noisy. And it didn't capture the story in any form or way. Likewise, the music was fair - where the music lacked, the character's voice acting (I saw the Japanese version when writing this review) makes up for it, and the sounds in general (bullets shooting, sword fighting, bombs, etc) were realistic enough, and the hallucinogenic sequences were also spot on. If the music, the intro and the outro had been better developed, I'd have no problems with this series.

Characters:

Nicolas, Warrick, the four families, Constance... I found them to be well developed. But in my opinion it was Warrick and Nicolas who kept my attention focused on the story. Their interaction with each other, and the way they survive in the city itself, followed by their means of survival in the city, make for an interesting watch.

Enjoyment:

I can never say no, to action. Especially kick ass Tag fighting. Which here, was a big appeal. The character development also made it a good watch and for me, gave more reasons to watch it till the end. Especially to the cliffhanger last episode anyway.

Overall:

A good watch. Crappy Intro, Outro, and Music aside; and taking the cliffhanger ending into consideration, I liked this anime. I see it having the potential of a sequel, but alas, like Shigurui I am starting to believe that they won't do so. Would be nice to see it, in my opinion.
