Review of Tsukigakirei
Introduction I've just finished watching Tsuki no Kirei and I have to say, this is one of the best shows I have watched, in my opinion, it rivals even Clannad/Clannad After Story with its romance/school crossover, the emotions that it unleashes through your body makes you want to keep watching it, within about two minutes I was on google searching if there was a second season, though, I found that it was only aired in April so it's not surprising that there isn't a season two yet but I can only say, I pray for the announcement. The school genre overall is used quite a lot andfor the reason that a few of them aren't very good because nothing really happens to get your blood pumping or you can just read through everything, sometimes, a story comes out that really drags you into the show. Tsuki ga Kirei does just that. Every time I told myself something would happen, the authors turned around and corrected me.
Story: 10/10
As mentioned above, the story was simply beautiful. It seemed quite realistic and had both it's happy, and sad moments, which were structured so amazingly that it rivals some of the other shows which are much more well-known. I can really tell the writers thought out every aspect of the story and executed it brilliantly. Not only was there Romance and School but there were also other pieces like the characters struggling through their relationship in their everyday life and a lot of studying to try and catch up. I feel as if a lot of Romance/School shows miss out on these aspects and just try to skip through a relationship with happy colors, it makes it so much more realistic.
Sound: 10/10
The voices were executed well, I thought they really fit the characters and their personalities, there was also quite a few sound effects that really spiced up the show as it progressed and I have to say, I loved both the Intro and Outro.
Art: 10/10
I was thinking about negating one point from Art because of some parts where the animation seemed to really struggle (like when the camera gets to a street view and all the people in the background are quite poorly animated) but to be honest, I didn't think it was bad enough to take away how amazing this show was. A lot of different shows try to catch you and reel you in mostly based off of how much cleavage the girls show, I don't mind it when there's a bit of cleavage but when every character has boobs the size of her head, it feels really redundant. But I feel the artists put the effort into other aspects of the scene instead.
Character: 10/10
I have to say, I loved EVERY character, even characters like Daichi who were there with one of the main characters to support them through it. Each character had their own purposes and their own personality, whereas, in other anime, it seems like there are about 50 girls falling for one guy. The character's personalities were all different, they all had their likes and dislikes.
Enjoyment: 10/10
This show was really enjoyable, I had so much fun watching this and will most likely watch it many more times, I feel as anyone would enjoy this show even if they're not someone that watches the Romance & School genre often. Whether you're laughing or on the verge of tears, at the end of the day, it's an amazing watch.
Overall: 10/10
I'm pretty sure I've summed everything up, every aspect of Tsuki ga Kirei fit together perfectly and I feel like all of the different departments worked together to create one big masterpiece. All I can ask for is another season with the same characters hopefully. I'd love it!
