Review of My Love Story!!

The story doesn't really have much substance because throughout the season, nothing really happens. We just follow the devlopment of Takeo and Yamato's love. One episode after another, we see how they come to understand each other more and become more comfortable with each other. However, just because that's all there was doesn't mean the story was bad. Quite the opposite actually. I actually enjoy this anime very much due to its simplicity. Sometimes you need to get away from all the drama, the fighting, the conflicts, and really let go and enjoy simple cuteness. There is some small misunderstandings toward the end of theanime but like I said, it's not dramatic or make the watcher feel frustrated/mad.

Takeo is one of the most lovable characters I've seen in anime. He's big, looks scary, and not the "ideal" man, but he's so sweet and caring and you can understand why Yamato likes him. Takeo truly is a treat in this anime and I genuinely found the anime more enjoyable because he was the main character. Before I watched this anime, I thought Suna would be the main guy, and even found the idea of making Takeo the main weird because he's not "ideal", but after watching, I get it, I totally get why he was the main and he is the perfect main.

Definitely give this a watch if you want to be released from the shackles of the usual dramatic shoujo.
