Firstly, This is the worst part of Jojo. This will especially disappoint those who expect quality from the series, not just a continuation. I cannot believe it is the most highly rated one. Let me explain why. Story: 6 It has a simple story with one motive and a definite route map - quite similar to the part 3, except they travel around Italy. However, after watching part 3, it is quite predictable. There is no element of surprise. Their "surprises" and "you thought I'd do this but no I did this" was lacking in intelligence, and it relied on random stand abilities which wasjust boring. There was no smart trap, nothing interesting, no mind manipulation, nothing well-thought out like it was in the previous series. I can recall many scenes from previous series in which the characters used their abilities in an interesting way despite limits but there was nothing interesting here. There are SO many more plot holes, compared to previous seasons. I expect improvement every season and this just disappointed me.

The stands are ridiculous. I did not like most of them even the protagonists'. It feels like the creators wanted to piss off the audience as much as they could. No thought put into them. There is no time to breathe in this series. Usually there's some time to relax until the next battle but there is no break to explore the characters and their relationships for us to actually feel for them.

Half the mysteries are left unanswered. I don't know if it would be revealed in the coming seasons but very unsatisfying.

Art: 7
There is no identity to this series other than the absolutely ridiculous character design. In part 3 there is a certain colour scheme, style, ridiculously large muscles, costumes and backgrounds which gave the series its identity. Part 4 handled the art the best - having a design for Morioh city, having some unique building designs, colour schemes and there was an identity to Morioh city as well as the characters because of how their designs blended in . Lot of scenes also used art like murals to depict stand abilities.

Part 5 was the poorest in creating an identity or atmosphere. Don't get me wrong - the backgrounds are beautifully done, detailed buildings and good depiction of the city but the characters just do not fit in. The city is rendered as it exists but without any mafia twists. If the series is about gangs, I'm expecting an atmosphere which depicts it. It just does not fit into the story and the costumes just stand out ridiculously. They do not go together.

Sound: 7
Voice actors did a great job, background music stood out and really enhanced the scene except - the scenes themselves didn't have any impact, only the music was good to hear. The openings were alright but didn't excite me as the previous seasons did but it did have a dark vibe. That's probably the only gang-ish thing you'll find in this series.
The first ending is just ridiculous, has nothing to do with the story, boring.
The second ending is by Enigma. Best thing ever, obviously.

Characters: 6

The main character is a calm hero of justice. Except, what the hell was wrong with him in the first few episodes? The amount of development was not enough, and there was very less exploration about him and even the others of the team. One of them was not even present for half the series. GioGio has no presence. He blends in way too much. You forget where he is. Everyone else stands out more than him, I think he isn't even seen for half the series. I didn't feel attached to him. The rest of the team is okay but there is not enough interaction between them for us to feel sad or happy for any of them. Just a set of quirky characters.

Character backstories are in the form of narrated flashbacks. No, not narrated to other characters, just for the audience. Which is okay but it would've been more interesting if characters interacted with each other and formed a bond instead. It felt like they were rushing to get their flashbacks out and get it over with.

The villain is probably the least intelligent villain I've ever seen. Power hungry maniac who has the strength but probably not enough brains. How he reached his position is beyond me. But he was interesting in a way.

Enjoyment: 7
Watch it with someone else. At least you can give commentary on the ridiculousness and enjoy it. I did enjoy it but I expected more and it just didn't give me the same joy I got from the previous seasons.

Overall: 6.5
This season was just mediocre(comparatively), it betrayed my expectations. No art, no feeling, no humanity, just trying to be as ridiculous as possible for the 'Jojo' name. I did like it for sure, I love the Jojo series but it REALLY really does not come on par with the previous seasons, thus the lower score. I might've been a little harsh on it because of the superior quality of the previous seasons but I believe that Jojo is a very unique series - there is clearly no anime like it and I want every season to be that perfect. I do recommend watching it though but only if you're a fan of Jojo from the beginning and want a sequel.
