Ojiisan no Densha · review
Every so often, when you are scouring the web for something you have yet to see, you find something from a bygone era. Ojiisan no Densha is an animation that presents a pleasant and idyllic portrait of the daily life in the Showa era. It features an old guy who conducts a train and a young man who plays baseball. Other than that the story mostly serves to accompany the music. The animation is very simplistic and old fashioned looking, in a way that reminds you of old Hanna-Barbara cartoons. The story is simple, but the characters are expressive and the music has an interesting nostalgic quality toit.
This animation is very obscure, but if you can find it, an enjoyable, if unremarkable experience can be found.
The animation director for this music video also animated a number of short films that are equally obscure.
