tldr; poor attempt at being "edgy and cool", suits being wattpad fanfiction better -- ah yes welcome to this Horror Manga. it is most definitely Horror, even if there is nothing horror-full about it apart from it simply being horrible. the story's nothing special, though it's not bad. mary's out there living her fairy tail dream, and suddenly a rich guy's kinda obsessed with her. the execution of the story is as can be expected of a one shot, in the sense that it's not easy to create depth if you've only got one chapter to work in. the art's decent, and resembles very much all those "how todraw anime girl" tutorials on google. however, i'll admit that i didn't dislike the way doll mary was drawn - it was clear some effort was put into making this story actually scary.

once more, nothing can really be said about the characters either. "doll?!" cries out mary, sounding far too much like werewolf wattpad fanfiction, "i'm nothing more than a peasant!" the earl's not got anything to him too. he's been designed just to fit the mangaka's fantasy, with one flaw thrown in (asthma) which thus most definitely prevents him from becoming a gary sue.

overall, i wasn't a fan. this one shot is a poor attempt at being edgy (what was the horror supposed to be? the fact he had a knife?) by a mangaka who should stick with her typical cutesy romance stuff. that said, it's only a one shot, and it doesn't take that much time/effort to read if you're bored and/or desperate.
