What seems like a simple but fresh romance ends up extremely rapey, just seeped with sexual coercion at every single turn. The art? Lovely, I really enjoy styles like this. Characters? I really enjoy these character types. But the initial comflict? Rapey as hell. The 'getting together' portion? Actual rape. How do they add a new conflict? Another character who is also attempts sexual assault. This whole narrative is built on it, and I couldn't stomach it. I was a bit caught off guard because I normally associate art styles like this with tame, romance-focused BL. I only read as far as I did because I thought it wouldchange, but the story only ever seemed to double down on it's commitment to coercion without even trying to flesh out the main character's feelings or sell his happiness to the reader.
