This is a wonderfully animated short film, with vibrant colors and excellent lighting. However, I found myself a bit lost on the overall story, and the song was okay. Mahou no Nai Sekai de Ikiru to Iu Koto tells the story of a young boy on the brink of death, whose life is reset by an hourglass spell. I don't want to interpolate much from there, because while this is a amazing piece of art to watch, the story felt very confusing. However, I would probably get a lot more on a second watch, and I implore other viewers of this short to watch itagain and again, to see all the little details--and to check out this artist's other work, which is teased at the end, and may tie in more to this story.
The music was okay. Lyrics felt a little stiff, but I don't speak Japanese, so what can I say to that.
Overall, this is a solid short film with great rewatchability.
