Nah they gotta make this cannon somehow ngl because this was the most shine and the best my boy Gobta has ever been. Night and day between this and the first film. They still nerfed the hell out of Rimiru, but the story and characters were way more interesting this time around. Yura was such a cool new character and her relationship with Gobta is the best part of the film. I actually could’ve done with more of them and less Rimiru in this one. It’s kind of a cliche summer beach trip to a legendary hidden kingdom plot set up, but it could actuallyfit in the timeline especially with the big reveal at the end which sets up volume 13 of the books.

The villain(s) and the twist were way better than Scarlet Bond, I actually didn’t see things playing out how they did. Still pretty underwhelming as individual characters, but the plot they hatched was better in this one. It’s kind of hard to take the threats in the first two films seriously because we know Rimiru should be one shotting these guys, but it does allow for some other characters to shine so I’m ok with that. In this case, Gobta was basically the MC and got so much development, that wouldn’t have been possible if they didn’t de-power Rimiru a bit. Makes things more interesting.

The final fight was pure cinema. The new song, the animation, the voice acting, Gobta’s big moment. It was all peak.

My only problem with the film is really how things ended with Yura and Gobta. I was hoping for a much different outcome, but I know they have to keep things in-line with the established cannon.. still, just wish my boy could’ve got a reward shall we say lol. Really fun time and a nice watch. It’s a great time to be a Tensura fan.
