Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

I first decided to read this because the cover looked great. The art is a 10, the premises of the whole manga is pretty cute too.. I just didn’t expect it to be 8 chapters. *small spoiler warning up next When manga is short, I understand they have to rush some things. After Harue and Fujishima met from a dating app, they don’t speak to each other much and there’s some small misunderstandings here and there with if who they’re with is a second partner or a friend. They spend half the time in the manga thinking about each other rather than actually texting and going out,and after literally only a few weeks (maybe 2 idk)? Fujishima confesses his love for him. No ‘lets go on another date’ but, ‘I’m in love with you’. I dont know if it got lost in translation or what, but those were bold choices for someone you barely even know. It was just too quick for me.
Not to say I prefer slowburns, but if this was just agonizingly quick. If you’re doing a oneshot, (whatever its called) I’d at least try to expand their relationship a little (or I guess the story), especially when they’re meeting each other for the first time and still new to learning about love. I understand the point is experiencing love like high schoolers through an older perspective, but it doesn’t even feel like that.
Other than me nitpicking, I think it’s good. Story is meh, but it’s good. I’d give it a 6.5 if I could. Their dates are nothing out of the ordinary (talking about after they get together at the end.) they go shopping right after Fujishima confesses and its really sweet.
Fujishima reassures Harue again that he likes him (again) because Harue is super insecure. Very generic but its fine. This trope is boring but it can be done well, I think this manga just had some lost potential due to the length.

I still kinda like it, so if you ever want something short and sappy to read I’d recommend this. It’s not a total waste of time since it’s short, it’s at least nice to look at.
