Review of Shakugan no Shana: Season I
This is one of the underrated action/supernatural/romance anime. I remember watching it when I was a kid then after rewatching it now, it all made more sense to me why it's one of my faves. You'll appreciate more the scenes, story, dialogues and the entire thing even more as an adult regardless of the PG-13 type of audience. But.. why is Yoshida Kazumi one of the main?!?! like.....??? just why???? I couldn't think of any reason why would she be considered as MC... ANYHOW, I loved how catchy the intro was. Imo, your curiosity will be tested after watching the first ep. It'll let you crave moreof what'll happen next and next and next.
Whenever the situation started to heat up, you'll feel more the intensity because of the music. It gives more chills and impact to both action/emotional scenes.
The usage of their terms on the other hand made this anime unique and cool in its own way. You'll really have to devour yourself and dig into details to understand and enjoy it better rather than those characters who would let themselves be known easily. It may sound complicated but for viewers to be satisfied, the anime used such terms for the viewers to be intrigued and let the viewers alone get invested. Besides, knowing their aliases, places they originated and whatnot will let your thirst of knowledge expand and will think of "what was she/he again?" or "what was it called?" and only re/watching til the entire thing is the solution. That proves how amazing and interesting this anime is for me.
Knowing new characters, terms and the like will excite you more because soonest, you'll start to sort out their powers, the level of how powerful each characters is, their skills and abilities and who's more powerful than whom. You'll love them all of how one is unique and different from each other but of course, MC (Shana and Yuuji) stands out really well.
P.S I don't really know how to make a useful review but hope this helps. ehe
