Review of Hunter x Hunter

GENERAL - Note: Since this is the first series I am making this review in the mindset that there is no (2011) version. Hunter x Hunter is an interesting shounen. We follow our main lead Gon as he starts his journey to become a hunter. On his way is when we meet our other main characters Killua, Leorio, and Kurapika. In this anime we go through several arcs ranging from the hunter exam arc to things such as a tournament arc. Hunter x Hunter is unique in the sense of how different its arcs are. In a way each arc covers its own genre. One arcmay seem all happy and up beat then the the next arc may be dark and not even feel like a shounen at times. Its the way this anime is able to present itself that makes it so good.

Many people will look at a shounen and not expect much out of it. In general this genre has many things in them that people don't like. Hunter x Hunter does not suffer form any of these problems. Due to the high episode count of this type of genre episodes may feel full of filler, however in Hunter x Hunter the filler parts of episodes are used in a way that doesn't make it feel unnatural.

CHARACTERS - So our main cast that is Gon, Killua, Leorio, and Kurapika makes for a interesting cast.

Gon who is setting out to becoem a Hunter to follow in his dads footsteps and hoping to find him as well in the process.

Killua who was raised by assassins and as such is raised to be one himself.

Leorio A doctor that at first seems to only care about money but more of his character is shown as to why he wants the money.

Kurapika a survivor of his clan that was wiped out and he wants to become a hunter so he can get his revenge.

The anime has quite a few supporting casts as some of them change depending on the arc itself.

SOUND - So the soundtrack is pretty good it does have a few stand out tracks such as the OP instrumental that will play in some of the lighter parts of the show.

ART / ANIMATION - Okay so since it is a old anime it suffers from poor animation quality. It does not have any stand otu art style which hinders the animation further since there is nothign to make up for the poor animation.

OVERALL - Hunter x Hunter was a enjoyable series even though it was made a long time ago the story makes thsi anime so good and makes up for the bad animation completely.
