This movie was made after the EOS for the gacha game that started it all. Similar to the manga, it is different from the game itself. Overall, the movie does a good job making a compact story of an otherwise very complicated and expansive concept. You follow the specific storyline of Alice as she deals with the Library and her own demons manifested. Animation is solid, considering it is all 3D and a total upgrade from the game's Live2D. They did a great job rendering the many small details in Jino's design for the main original characters. Action scenes were not as dynamic as actionanime, but they served their purpose well-enough and were better than I expected. The background isn't particularly special, but some of the setting pieces are very fitting for the aesthetic from the game, and original movie designs were also well-done.
The story was interesting and tied into the ending for the game in the Global/Taiwan version. You get to see the characters decently fleshed out, albeit some with a lot less screentime than others. They interact in ways that were not shown as well in the game, and it was enjoyable to see. The ending moral is also something typical of a story in the Yokoverse, and something helpful for our times when reality itself is becoming too much of a burden.
