Adaptation: 10/10 I’m a manga fan and to be honest, it feels like the anime is sometimes surpassing the manga. They add a lot of original little cute voiceless scenes (when they are stuck in the snowstorm) that add some closeness between the characters that seemed a bit lacking in the original work, while the characters stay very in character. I really love the episode with the battle with Linie and Lugner where you get to see Fern and Stark grow up in their way with their fight scenes put in parallel. (you don't really get that in the manga) To me it's close to a narration masterpiece insymbolism, maybe not for each frame but a lot of frame shows more than it tells with the lighting, the composition, the acting etc. They add a lot of little meaningful things that can’t be done in the manga, and that’s great.
You feel how the time slows down when she started her journey with Fern and it feels like another way to show how Frieren is taking a step closer to understanding humans by trying to feel her time on the same lvl as Fern...

Animation: 10/10

It’s not the flashy type of fighting animations but it is perfect for the series.
You guys have no idea how many times I rewatched Laufen’s battle. That was beautiful. Not her thighs or butt but the animation was beautiful.
It has been a while since I watched an anime with properly painted backgrounds/trees/grass, and it's a blessing for the eyes.

Sound: 10/10

While I don’t find the songs mindblowing, I think they are very fitting for the atmosphere of the series.
I like how sometimes they choose silence instead of putting on some emotional music to make you cry without overdoing it. (I still like my animes with cool bgms) The sound design is very clever, they use sound effects to ‘’’show’’’ things and you can feel the ‘’’quiet’’’ atmosphere of the original work.

Characters: 10/10

The character art is very good, and their voice actors are very good despite most of the characters not being very expressive. The voice actors’s acting is subtle and yet very distinctive for every character. I think they did a very good job for the casting too.

I loved the anime, easily one of my top favorite but I wouldn’t recommend it to people who don't like slow paced anime.
