Review of A Girl & Her Guard Dog

The title alone should give you a hint about what this anime will be all about so I'm not sure what people expected this anime to be...Maybe read the damn description before you go in? That said I do have many problems with this particular one and my problems don't stem from a fake ass moral or ethical standpoint. And i start with this cause from what I've seen there is a discussion being made that this anime is creepy and age gap and grooming....Yet I didn't see anyone complaining about Fruits Basket..In fact if you make the rounds of this site you'll find many ofya have found this anime quite the adventurous romance and it's even recommended as the top similar anime 🫠

Anyhow this specific cancer deals with Isaku, who happens to be a teenage girl...I want to specify to my American friends that a girl is a human without a DICK....And from the very first second the anime makes you very much aware that she has the hots for her self proclaimed father, mother and/or brother or whatever he identifies as at any specific moment, who's also an adult and raised her ever since she was a child..Now if I was GenZ or identified as millennial I would be on a fence SCREAMING LIKE HALFORD, who happens to be gay btw as well as the best METAL vocalist on motherfucking earth...But I won't cause I know the difference between real life and fiction and I won't bother bringing science into this AGAIN cause science has suffered enough and most of you are stupid so you won't even understand that art in any form is supposed to touch upon everything life or fantasy related and if you're bothered by it....Skip it like an adult and stop crying like a bitch.

Now..In the past I've made reviews that talked about this need to have anime that touch on taboo subjects and i still stand by my words..That doesn't mean in any way that i like them but i like having the choice to watch anything no matter how disgusting it is...I even put out reviews for fun praising School Days and Yosuga no Sora even, cause while I won't even watch them again I respect them for challenging the status quo and I respect them for being brave and stupid enough to exist in the first place and make their mark even if for all the wrong reasons..And taboo romances much like this one need to exist BUT the problem is that It's not very good....In fact I'd rather have Yakuza pay me a visit and torture me with battery cables and horses and anime like Kanon 🤮

One of my biggest issues is the animation that makes you wish you were abducted by hard Islamists and set on fire in a cage...The very first episode introduces you to eyes so weird it makes anything from the Unholy Cancerous Trinity (Kanon-Air-Clannad) seem like a dream where you're bathed with milk and honey while drinking Japanese whiskey like i am now...Drinking whiskey I mean lads relax!

Isaku's eyes are some Russian scientist's experiment to see if it's possible to make a BOW that can kill tye viewer from afar just by looking at him/her....And as for our resident pedophile, Keiya, his eyes are black but the kind of black that reminds you you're gonna burn in the deepest depths of hell..And that is just the beginning cause the 1st episode is the good looking one...After that it's gloves off bad animation that manages to get even deadlier by the minute..Imagine a gag anime only worse cause at least you know what to expect with these....But this fucking anime goes boldly into the anus of eye cancer and drills new holes for fun...I cannot even remember how many times I saw characters talking with their mouths closed or talking with no sound coming to me at all...Look I know things are bad at this industry as well as many others but I fail to find any excuses at all for this mess.

Now one thing I found this anime did well was point out the damn obvious issues of an age gap in relationships and that's above all else the gap in the way each one has different experiences and way of thinking and how big a difference there's maturity-wise..Think about it..He has already had a headstart in life while she hasn't even experienced a kiss or having friends and doing friend things like going for a karaoke or have a sleepover or anything a teen does at her age, which is vastly different from what a man his age does or expects from a woman to do.

I also found myself at times wishing he would be run over by a truck but my prayers weren't answered cause let's be very clear..He sucks balls as a character and not just cause of their age difference but rather the fact that he's an overprotective asshole to a very dangerous degree who seems to actively seek to destroy her supposed new life and making her lose sight of her hope to live a normal life WHICH WAS THE SUPPOSED PREMISE..Not only that it's also the fact that he turns very violent very quickly for the most stupid of reasons like "you wore a swimsuit to the beach" so I'm gonna kill everyone including your mother.

Last but not least I didnt even appreciate the fact that in order to make him look like the good guy in all this madness they had to introduce another character who is like the Devil to his Saint and judging by what I just told ya, both are as garbage as it gets.

As for every other character...Don't care cause this anime is full of characters that are so forgettable I began to think i might have stumbled upon a very serious case of memory loss that would make Dr. House be very intrigued...So that's that and let's never speak of this ever again
