Simply beautiful. That's the only phrase I can use to describe this season. This season shows us a new Thorfinn, an empty Thorfinn, going from being 'the one who causes pain' to being 'the one who suffers' and redeeming himself for everything he did. Chapter 9 is absolutely beautiful, showing us what Thorfinn's torment looks like, that which, regardless of the day, awakens him with cries of helplessness. After Askeladd's death, Thorfinn was left completely empty. Then someone appeared who helped fill that void, someone who helped him find new meaning in his life, someone who taught him that violence isn't always the solution: Einar. While Thor andAskeladd also played important roles, the reason Thorfinn was able to see the world differently was thanks to his friend, which makes this season even more beautiful.

The first season surprised me in many episodes, just like this one, but this season made me cry not from sadness, but also from a feeling of helplessness. Even though the characters aren't real, it hurts to see how they suffered for being from a marginalized class, and not being able to do anything to prevent it.
