Review of Dan Da Dan
I've read the manga, so yeah, I believe the source material is still better. But Science Saru is undoubtedly doing one hell of a job, might even be the best at adapting anything compared to any regular studios last year. This series has a solid foundation: the adolescents, the passion in the story, a unique concept with strong execution, and impressive art direction. Borrowing tons from its predecessor in the medium, you'll find a lot of familiarities that will help you get used to the high-octane, balls-to-the-walls pacing. With enough heart at the center to differentiate and ground the feelings. However, i feel it's importantto point out that it lacks a clear trajectory. There is no sense of a larger world, which for me is necessary for it to be considered one of the best upcoming titles in the shonen landscape. In short, in order to go higher on my list, which this series has all the potential to it, i need my world-building!
